Integrantes

Lars Ulrich
Nacido el 26 de diciembre de 1963 en Gentofte ,Dinamarca.Actual baterista de la banda ,también cofundador junto a James Hetfield. Es reconocido como uno de los mejores bateristas de todos los tiempos.

Robert Trujillo

Nació el 23 de Octubrede 1964 en California, Estados Unidos. Es el actual bajista del grupo. Sustituyó al anterior bajista Jason Newsted. Antes de ingresar a la banda había tocado en Suicidal Tendencies, Black Label Society, Infectious Grooves, Ozzy Osbourne, Jerry Cantrell, entre otros.

Kirk Hammett

Nació el 18 de noviembre de 1962 en California, Estados Unidos. Guitarrista del grupo.
Sustituyó al anterior guitarrista Dave Mustaine, después de que este tuviera problemas con la banda y fuera expulsado de Metallica. Es considerado como el undécimo mejor guitarrista de todos los tiempos.

James Hetfield
Nació el 3 de agosto de 1963, Downey, Los Ángeles, California es un músico estadounidense, actual líder, vocalista y guitarrista rítmico de la banda de thrash metal Metallica. Es el único miembro de la banda que goza de créditos en todos sus temas.

La banda

Metallica es una banda de trash metal originaria de Estados Unidos. Fue fundada en 1981 en Los Ángeles por el danés Lars Ulrich y James Hetfield, a los que se les unirían Lloyd Grant y Ron McGovney. Estos dos músicos fueron después sustituidos por el guitarrista Dave Mustaine y el bajista Cliff Burton, respectivamente. Mustaine fue despedido un año después de ingresar en la banda debido a su excesiva adicción a las drogas y al alcohol, y fundó la banda Megadeth, siendo sustituido en Metallica por Kirk Hammett. Por otra parte, en 1986, la muerte de Cliff Burton en un accidente de autobús en Suecia provocó la entrada al grupo de Jason Newsted, que, quince años más tarde, sería sustituido tras su deserción por el bajista actual de la banda, Robert Trujillo.

Hasta la fecha, la banda ha editado nueve discos de estudio. Las ventas totales de Metallica superan los 100 millones, y son considerados uno de los cuatro grandes del thrash metal junto con Anthrax, Slayer y Megadeth. Además, el grupo ha conseguido numerosos premios musicales, entre los que destacan nueve Grammys, dos premios otorgados por la cadena musical MTV, dos galardones de la Academia de Música Americana y un premio de la revista Billboard, y posee una estrella en el paseo de la fama de la revista Kerrang!.
